Do you do children's and parents' classes ?

We are often asked this question about children’s classes. While it is conceivable, our answer is NO. For many reasons, see below.

  1. Children and adults are at very different stages of development in terms of learning style and ability.
  2. Studies show that children learn best with their own peers.
  3. Children need a break from their parents and their parents’ expectations. This is an essential time for them to discover who they are and learn to interact with people on their own. It’s hard to walk away from something you don’t want when you do it with your parents. Children need the freedom to learn to act and set boundaries.
  4. Parents need a break from their children.

We hold children’s classes at the same time as adult classes, but separately. Parents train in the main room while children attend the children’s program with qualified coaches in a separate area.

Casual family workouts can indeed be fun. But as a training program, looking for youth-friendly classes taught by coaches specially trained to work with youth is very important.
